Elon Musk Envisions Massive Growth for SpaceX’s Starlink Amid AI and Robotics Surge

NEW YORK, August 10, 2026: Elon Musk envisions the future of satellite internet being way more than just connecting households, offices, and mobile phones. With the development of artificial intelligence, self-driving cars, robots, and connected machines, the CEO sees a potential rise in the need for high-speed internet connections that could make Starlink the world’s most important communication network.

Elon Musk described a future of Starlink when addressing the first earnings call of SpaceX as a public company. The entrepreneur claims that satellite internet could eventually carry the majority of worldwide internet traffic and generate revenues of more than $1 trillion per year.

The forecast is far from the current size of satellite broadband market. However, Musk’s vision relies on a greater technological revolution happening within the industry: computers are not only available on our desks, in our hands or in data centers any longer. Starlink Is Now SpaceX’s Largest Revenue Generator
